One man who impressed was Arsenals Reiss Nelson the 18-year-old is one of a number of English starlets who are impressing outside of the Premier League in wider Europe.Nelson is lighting up the Bundesliga, along with Jadon Sancho who is also making headlines for his remarkable form since leaving Manchester City to join Borussia Dortmund.Gunners winger Nelson has six goals in seven games on loan with Hoffenheim, while Sanchos five goals and eight assists for Dortmund has seen him called up to the senior England team for the first time this season. But they are not alone Boothroyd has a host of players all enjoying more prominent roles with oversees clubs.Borussia Dortmund’s Sancho now has three senior England caps3

And he has urged other young players who are struggling for regular game time to think about moving to Europe, telling talkSPORT: It can only be a good thing.Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, Boothroyd said: Because the players are not getting in the first-teams of the clubs at the top end, theyre thinking, where am I going to play my football, where am I going to get my games, where am I going to get my experience?’Weve currently got five players who are playing away from the Premier League, but theyre all getting experience.Weve got a couple in the Bundesliga, one is Serie A, one in Ligue 1 and a couple in the Eredivisie in Holland.

Young England players in Europe:

Jadon Sancho Borussia Dortmund (capped at U19 and senior level)Reiss Nelson Hoffenheim (on loan from Arsenal)Jake Clarke-Salter Vitesse (on loan from Chelsea)Sheyi Ojo Stade Reims (on loan from Liverpool)Patrick Roberts Girona (on loan from Man City)Ronaldo Vieira Sampdoria (Signed from Leeds for 7m in July)So weve got players who are being brave and are learning different football cultures and different ways of playing, thats what theyre having to do to get to where they need to be.As long as they end up back in our league, I think that can only be a good thing.Midfield playmaker Foden has been tipped to follow Sancho and Nelson in a move oversees, as he struggles for regular game time in Manchester Citys star-studded side.Juventus were recently linked with an interest in the 18-year-old, but City are now said to be ready to hand the England U-21 ace a new and improved contract.Phil Foden celebrates becoming the youngest Premier League medal-winner in history last season3

And Boothroyd believes he should bide his time for a chance in Pep Guardiolas side.Phil is playing with the best players in the world, the Young Lions boss added. That is part of their education, being around and learning from those top players and then in an ideal world theyre going to get games too.Its not our place to tell the clubs what to do, were part of the players development. But one things for sure, they love coming to playing for England and getting game time in.If they can manage to get that game time at their clubs, it will only benefit them and benefit the country as well.Listen back to Aidy Boothroyd on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast IN FULL above
