David Moyes and Sam Allardyce are being targeted by Stoke City with Gary Rowett set to lose his job as manager.Rowett was appointed last summer with the expectation of guiding Stoke to a promotion charge following their relegation from the Premier League.Big money was spent so Rowett could build a team that is arguably one of the best in the division on paper, but a failure to put in impressive performances on the pitch leaves Stoke in the bottom half of the table at the beginning of 2019.2

With two defeats in their past three matches and without a win since before Christmas, Stoke are now eight points off the playoff places and 16 points behind league leaders Leeds United.And, according to The Mirror, club chiefs are ready to make a change having lost their patience with Rowett.Fans have also turned on the former Birmingham and Derby boss, and Stoke officials have met to discuss Rowett’s future. It is reported that Moyes and Allardyce have been lined up as potential replacements for Rowett, as they are considered likely to help Stoke push for promotion throughout the remainder of the season.Both managers are believed to be willing to drop down to the Championship to accept the Stoke job, as the club’s ambition is to return to the Premier League as soon as possible.2

Moyes and Allardyce have both been out of work since the end of last season, when they left West Ham and Everton respectively.Moyes departed the London Stadium when his short-term contract expired having achieved his aim of keeping West Ham in the top flight, while Allardyce was sacked by Everton just six months after taking charge of the Merseyside club.
