Manuel Pellegrini was left frustrated as Liverpool scored an offside goal to claim a point against West Ham on Monday evening.The Reds extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to three points, but the title race has been blown wide open and Jurgen Klopp’s side can be knocked down to second place when Manchester City visit Everton on Wednesday night.Liverpool showed signs of not being able to deal with the pressure of a title race against the Hammers, with Pellegrini’s men cutting them open again and again – wasting numerous goal scoring chances in the process.3

Pellegrini rightfully felt aggrieved after the match

West Ham eventually made one of their chances count, with Michail Antonio finding the back of the net after a well-worked free-kick to cancel out Sadio Mane’s opener.It is Mane’s goal that has left Pellegrini aggrieved, with James Milner clearly offside in the build-up.3

“Yes, disappointed, without any doubt,” Pellegrini said after the match.“If you create four chances and didn’t score and they score a goal one metre and a half offside, you must be disappointed and worried.“I think we played in the way I like this team to play against every team. “Maybe in the moment that we were (on a losing run), nobody believed that we could do it but I was absolutely sure and I trusted the players that we can play in the way we did.“I think we did a complete performance, because against the team that has the best defence we created so many chances.”West Ham failed to scored a second despite their numerous chances, with Declan Rice wasting the best opportunity; his free header flew just wide of Alisson’s goal after another well-worked set piece.The Hammers never truly looked like conceding again during the second half as they put in a superb defensive showing, but another officiating mistake almost led to a late Liverpool winner.3

Origi was also not called offside, but Liverpool did not benefit on this occasion

With all but the last kick of the match, Divock Origi failed to find a way past Lukasz Fabianski in West Ham’s goal, having been found by Naby Keita with a fine pass.However, Origi was, like Milner, clearly offside – and the linesmen failed to make the call a second time.
